What is Include Files? Include files is external text files that could be used in the xhtml/html files.
If the main menu should be the same in every page/document in the project/site - then Include files is very useful. When it is time to add a menu item, then we only need to change in one file, the Include File. Then we do a: Update With Include Files from the Tools Menu in SEEdit Maxi.
When the ( in this example ) Main Menu is created and looks nice in the index file, it could be time to create the Include File. (This could be done later ). From the File Menu create a Blank SEEdit Include File... and Save As.. mainmenu.txt ( SEEdit show the correct folder to Save the file by auto ).
Now we have an empty Include File called mainmenu.txt - Now it is time to add the Main Menu code - Copy code from the index file and paste into the empty Include File and Save.
Insert Include File
When we already have the code, as in the index file, we just select the code that is the same as in the Include File... From the Insert Menu - Include File select the mainmenu.txt file and the Include Command is inserted. When creating a new page, just do the Insert Include File .
Update With Include Files
To Update the xhtml/html files we have to do a Update With Include Files from the Tools Menu. An another example to use Include Files is the footer.
